Graduation throwback with my one and only.
I decided that, while parked in front of the house Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was filmed, to take a selfie in my rental car. What’s up, California?
California is a dream world. Filled with mimosas and $3.99 happy hour margarita specials. Newport livin’.
… and consider what exactly I’d like to spend the next few years doing with my life.
I will somehow manage to rebut any potential career option related to my interests.
Shall I begin?
I could write… but need I remind myself how incredibly impractical this is. I love it. My eyes are glued to the pages of old books, and I imagine how my words could make another person feel. Then I am constantly reminded that the probability of my success is slim.
I could pursue art history. Or cultural anthropology. Or paleopathology. Or biophysical anthropology. Or comparative literature. Or archaeology. Or Israeli studies.
… Or a completely different route — graphic design. Photography. Web design. FASHION.
In a perfect world, Barbie would be an average redhead living in upstate NY, where it would be possible for all of these hats to exist in my closet to be worn at my choosing.
If someone would like to plan out my future for me, I’d be forever in your debt.
Let me apologize for my absence and begin by saying… a new chapter in my life has begun. I was selected to give the commencement address for SUNY Plattsburgh’s 2012 Winter Graduation. You can read about it here.
I miss you. I’m sorry I don’t exist much lately. Unfortunately, my word is enveloped with two theses, writing a very important speech, and ceremonies for Alpha Phi. I hope to see you again, hopefully in one month and 15 days.
